How can you Volunteer?

Heavenly Paws Animal Shelter is staffed 100% by non-paid volunteers and we have some amazing volunteers! If you think you might be interested in helping out, please keep reading.

Our most desperate need is always fosters. Since we are a no-kill shelter, with no physical shelter location, fostering is the backbone of our rescue. We need people who have the space, time, energy and extra love to dedicate to all of the wonderful cats and kittens that come into our lives. Fostering is not easy and is more than just keeping a cat fed and watered in a room. Our cats come from the streets and often have fleas, worms, or other health issues that need to be cared for.

If fostering seems like more than you can handle, we also need volunteers in our stores to help feed, clean, and love on our kitties. These volunteers help our cats stay happy and healthy during the stressful time they spend in the stores on their search for their forever homes. Our store volunteers also help us out during events to help promote our cats and raise money for the shelter.

Even if you don’t have the time or energy to dedicate to volunteering, we can always use help through donations and financial assistance. We have drop boxes located in several of our stores where we can accept donations of food, litter, toys, bedding, etc… You can also send monetary donations through Facebook or Paypal.

We could not do what we do with out all of the love and support from our community and from you

Foster Volunteers

Over the past ten years, Heavenly Paws Animal Shelter has placed thousands of cats in permanent, loving homes. Our foster families are the vital bridge between a rescued cats unfortunate situation into the loving, forever home that awaits them. Fostering an animal is one of the most rewarding experiences imaginable and there is always a kitty who needs you.

The length of commitment depends on the reason for the foster need. Some kitties just need to gain a little weight and others might need socialization or time to recover from a medical procedure. We also need foster parents for newborn kittens who need to be weaned and reach the age of 8 weeks before adoption. Fostering can last anywhere between 10 days to several months.

**We always work with you to find a foster cat that best fits your interest and schedule.**

What Heavenly Paws Shelter Provides

From the time we rescue a pet until the day it leaves foster care, Heavenly Paws assumes responsibility for ALL expenses related to your foster cat’s care. We pay all veterinary expenses, including all vaccinations, deworming, spaying/neutering, routine medication, emergency veterinary visits, food, litter and all of the necessary supplies to care for your foster. While the cat is in your care, we work diligently to quickly provide a carefully screened, permanent home for the kitty you’ve so graciously taken in. Our fosters become our babies, so we make sure they get a caring, loving, forever home.
